The ties that bind

Eagle vs. Shark is one of the best films ever made.

Living with in-laws is difficult. Whether you love them or not. Trust me. You might think you have a great relationship that can withstand anything but don't do it. Eventually you are bound to disagree about something.
Glad to get that off my chest.
Today is one of those days. You know the days where you kind of feel miserable but when someone asks why you can't seem to but a finger on it? I'm having one of those days. To help myself feel better I've been reading posts from FML and it's actually helping a lot. I recommend it.

I am on holiday at the moment and I have two more days of a five day break left. I have done absolutely nothing worth mentioning. Actually, that is a lie. I have taken up running. Three kilometres a day which may not sound like much but I am quite pleased with myself. Today I took the dog and we did our 3 km track. When we finished, we had a drink of water and casually strolled back to the car, enjoying the vitamin D from the sun. That's when I noticed my father in law's car and decided to go back to the path to catch up to them.
Big mistake. The dog and I decided to take a short cut. The short cut turned in to a rock climbing expedition up a mud covered slope. When we reached the top, scratched and dirty we were alone with no in laws in sight. We ran a bit further down the path and that's when we hear a loud BOOOM followed by a flash of lightning. My brave german shepherd lost his nerve and started running at full speed with me in tow. We ran for the trees but they provided little shelter so we carried on. We decided to run down the same hill we had previously climbed which at full speed caused us to completely lose control of our legs and come crashing down. Soaked, we reached the bottom of the hill happy to be on the last stretch before the car. I forgot to mention that the area we run in is situated right next to a military base. Well, they decided to have target practise right as the dog and I were walking by. Needless to say, the rifles firing did not help my dog's disposition and he spend the rest of the walk pulling the leash in what seemed like an attempt to strangle himself.
Let's see what tomorrow's run brings.

And so it begins...

This is my first blog. Ever. In fact, I'm so new at this I just had to double check whether or not blog is spelled with two Gs.
